Engineering  |  E2

This is to be done with small groups first, once you’ve done the activities, then you can ask to join up with others in your larger group.

  1. The group is divided into two teams and given a foam foil.
  2. This is a foil, not a saber – poking, not whacking each other.
  3. The group is given burgers to place on the back of their hand.
  4. The goal is for the person to poke the burger from the other team’s hand, while protecting their own burger.
  5. When the burger is gone, the player is to kneel down. They can still try and poke a burger from an opponent’s hand.
  6. PAUSE!  Ask the group: What strategy did the teams choose? Was it successful?
OK – get back into teams. Give them a minute to discuss a strategy.
  7.  Allow for several rounds of action.

Objective: The entire team must develop a product and process to transfer “toxic” material to an isolated container for decontamination without spilling it. They cannot touch the containers, and they must remain outside of the “contaminated” area during the task.  If the material spills, the team must start over.

Objective: The team must do a cheerleading type activity; e.g. build a human pyramid and shout out the phrase “E2 Camp is great!”
